Eco is the future

About us...

Ecoture is a home based business run by myself Metala Theart. I am very passionate about the environment and animal rights. I launched this website in 2008 with the aim to raise awareness and reduce the ongoing negative impact on the environment and unfair trading.

  • I have a home office, so theres no commute to work and no need for additional lighting or heating.
  • I use recycled stationary.
  • I have local storage and walk to the local post office.
  • I only use recycled/recycleable packaging.
  • EcoNiko -  I am a registered Wikaniko distibutor.

About the Supplier(s)

My supplier trades in an ethical way. They have a high element of trust and friendship between producer and importer. They encourage their producers;  family based businesses and small groups of artisans to improve their own situation by offering higher prices for improvements in quality and in general making their product more appealing to developed markets. They are big supporters of traditionally made handicrafts, and not supporters of factories.
This supplier is very conscious of environmental matters, as I am; only using natural sustainable products and re-using all clean packaging. They buy reused cartons from REBOXIT and avoid airfreight wherever possible.

Supplier #2 quote:
"All of our goods are imported direct from India where we have a policy of buying only from small scale producers who we have visited personally. We visit at least twice a year. We believe in the policy of fair trade always paying a fair price for goods rather than forcing prices artificially low!! We also feel very passionate about recycling and the use of unnecessary packaging, therefore unlike some wholesalers we do not use fancy packaging to sell a product, where ever possible all of our packing material has either been reused or recycled."
